Who We are

Folkhouse, and its founder, were born in the Rocky Mountains. Our work cherishes the natural world and its beauty, while also requiring that our designs work well no matter where our projects are. Form and function work together in harmony, just like they do in the natural world.

hi! I’m Elizabeth

Since I was a child, I’ve been fascinated with interior design. Drawing sections of my dream home (complete with a multi-story slide) on the back of my developer dad’s blueprints, and dreaming of what my room would look like on the Spice World bus once the group accepted me as their sixth (unfortunately non-British) member.

Since then, my path has been anything but linear. After graduating with an Interior Design degree from Cornell University, my design journey has taken me from military command centers to K-12 schools, and from sultry speakeasies to the Plaza Hotel.

My flexibility, open-mindedness, hunger for adventure, and ability to integrate function and form is what sets me a part from my peers.

I create spaces for my clients that serve as a foundation for the rest of their lives. A beautiful, functional home helps raise a happy family, just like a well-appointed office inspires better work. Whether you’re looking for a sanctuary, inspiration, order, or a shift of energy in your space, I would love to be a part of that journey with you.

Sustainability

We don’t believe that sustainability is simply a trend, nor is it limited to new-age furniture or high-tech materials. Sometimes the most sustainable decisions are also some of the most creative, like finding new ways to use elements you already have in your home. When we do propose something new, we try to find items that use natural materials, are locally made, and are durable enough to last.

OUR valueS

Craftsmanship

We view our work as a craft, something that we have spent years of our life honing and refining so that we can create the most beautiful and functional spaces we can for our clients. This love of artistry and quality extends to the furniture we propose, the paint we suggest, and the craftspeople we partner with.

Trust

The Client-Interior Designer relationship is built on trust. We trust our clients to tell us their true opinions, and they trust us to be responsible with their budget, transparent in our billing and markups, and clear about inevitable hiccups that occur along the way.

"Elizabeth is a true tastemaker – I can rely on her to bring a strong, customized design that meets our functional and aesthetic needs, while also grounding the work in a timelessness that will last for years. Her skill lies in understanding our vision and transforming it into compelling ideas that everyone is excited to bring to reality. She is not only professional and articulate but also brings some fun to every collaboration. Our history of successful projects together speaks volumes, and we look forward to continuing our fruitful partnership!"
